Palliative Care Queensland

New module for clinicians on inclusive end of life decision-making with people from diverse populations

Palliative Care Queensland is pleased to share with you that the End of Life Law for Clinicians national training program has launched a new free online training module for all health professionals about Inclusive end of life decision-making with people from diverse populations.

Louise O’Neill, CEO Palliative Care Qld commends this training module to all health professionals. “We know that people from diverse populations often find it challenging accessing safe, inclusive, accessible end of life care. This training is essential in assisting medical practitioners, medical students, nurses and allied health professionals to understand the legal considerations that can arise for people from diverse populations.” It focuses on decision-making with:

  • People who identify as LGBTIQ+
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse and/or refugee backgrounds
  • People with disability
  • People with frailty.

This module aims to help health professionals understand relevant legal considerations when caring for people from diverse populations at the end of life, to deliver high-quality, safe, inclusive, and accessible end of life care for individuals, their families and support networks.

This training may attract CPD points. For more information about the module click here. Register for free at the Palliative Care Education & Training Collaborative.
